About the Antiques Council

The Antiques Council is a professional association of art and antique dealers that mandates the highest ethical and professional standards. Members are selected by their peers for the quality of their merchandise, their expertise, and integrity.

There are currently more than 50 dealer members throughout the North America, Europe and the United Kingdom. Membership is by invitation only, and all members are evaluated annually. Each member is required to perform the following tasks when selling an item:

  • Provide a written invoice that includes age, origin, construction, and disclosure of condition
  • Guarantee every item to be as described.
  • Make a full refund if the description proves to misrepresent the item (provided that the antique is returned in the same condition in which it was sold).
